Them's My Boyz

Yes, I know that some people call Blink-182 too commercial, sell-out, not real punk, immature, annoying, etc, but I think the people who say these things are often uptight hard-asses or glue sniffing dip-shits. To me, the adjectives that come to mind when thinking of Blink are bright, fresh, funny, listenable, and silly (is silliness a crime?). Though it is not exactly recognized as their trademark, Blink-182 are also capable of expressing deep sincerity and passion in their music. Believe it or not, Blink plays a small but important role in consoling me in my sometimes troubled life. If you're ever feeling super-depressed
just listen to Enema of the State for 15 minutes and I guaruntee you'll come out of it feeling more cheerful. Their earlier album, "Dude Ranch", is also great, and their recent untitled album is one of their best yet. I should also note that they are cute, unabashedly affectionate with each other (to the point of quirky homoeroticism), and have been willing to perform concerts in the nude. Honestly, what more could you ask for from a band? Sadly, Blink announced not
that long ago that they are on an indefinite hiatus- in other words, they have for the time being broken up. This sucks big time, but I still have hope that there will be a reconciliation and a musical resurrection. Guys who have run around naked with each other as often as Mark, Tom, and Travis probably can't stay apart forever.
